Cranger Guard: The Protective Brother of Cranger Sprocket
Cranger Guard is Erigen BMX's grind sprocket guard the “protective brother” of the Cranger sprocket.
It’s made from a single piece of 7075 full CNC aluminum.
Its brother, the Cranger sprocket, was inspired by a car rim and presented a design challenge. The process was quite limited, as we couldn’t overcomplicate the shape of the component. This helped prevent future breakage we played it safe.
Cranger Guard gave us a bit more freedom and allowed us to take the design one step further. Creating an outer edge to protect the teeth was our best chance to clearly reflect the car rim inspiration, instead of sticking to the initial half-finished idea.
